Pyongyang today is reporting that North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Il
has died of a heart attack. Only time will tell what this
really means for the Korean peninsula and the rest of the world.
I’ve never been in North Korea.
I’ve visited South Korea.
And I heart it.
I think they do a
lot of stuff a whole lot better than Russia. For example,
transportation, eating out, ordering food to your house, mail delivery, lack of
needing a car, internet, cell phone service, farmer's markets, tourist
information. And lots of stuff I can't recall now, I'm sure.
Korean war brought sorrow to hundreds
of Korean families separated for more than 50 years. When I asked my Korean
boss if he knew that people in NK was starving his answer was: “I don’t care
about it” .
One
can only hope and pray that Kim Jong-Il’s death will spark the beginning of a
new era of positive changes north of the DMZ.
