Memories

Korea, my love

To say that I love Korea means to say nothing.
Reading blogs of Canadian, Australian, American teachers in Korea about people, life, schools, temples, towns and cities in this small country I see how different we are. I can present arguments for and against the various aspects of Korea, but I wouldn't.  Why? Because I heart Korea for plenty of things.
For its marvelous landscapes, for its calm and reasonably organized everyday life, for its ancient picturesque temples, for its green weird furtrees and …, for its spicy dishes and tasty galby, for its LBH, dramas, movies and music, for….
The list is endless, but actually I love it because Korea has changed me and my life. Sure God sent  the gift to overcome all the troubles and become stronger and wiser.
Any other country was likely to impress me at that time, but thanks God for giving me Korea. I wish I visited it someday

 Living in Chekoslovakia

In 1989-1990 my family lived in Milovice, 30 kilometres (19 mi) from the capital Prague. Life in Russia was difficult : lack of food, lack of clothes, lack of everything. A small green calm town Milovice was like a Paradise. The population was about 20,000.

I spent time looking after my small daughters. The anti-Communist revolution started on November 1989 in Bratislava, with a demonstration of Slovak university students for democracy, and continued with the well-known similar demonstration of Czech students in Prague. So in 1990 we returned home.

It's been abandoned for many years.

Now it’s one of few former Soviet military areas in Czech Republic. The central part of Milovice, is being rebuilt and many young people live there. Boží Dar, as well as the nearby airport, is totally abandoned.

I miss Milovice.
